Chautauqua Festival 2016
Tuesday, May 29, 2018
I had the opportunity to be a part of this festival this year. Last year I had to skip it due to a prior obligation to another event that, ironically, I skipped this year to do Chautauqua Festival. I wish they were on different days because I love being part of both events. LOL However, I went this year, and it was a load of fun. It was a cold, windy day, but I had fun watching the cloggers and listening to other artists tell jokes or sing. There's some real talent in East Texas I tell ya! Here are a few pics taken at the festival.

I got to go "home" when I attended the festival as an author this year. I grew up in East Texas near Kilgore and Longview in a small community called Liberty City or otherwise known as Sabine. No matter where I live or have lived in my life, Sabine is my home. It's where my youth and wonderful memories of that youth remain. I know most people have seen that meme on Facebook that says "I don't want to adult today." That's me MOST days! Here we were all in a hurry to grow up, graduate high school, and do what we wanted, when we wanted, and with whom we wanted. OK. Here we are so when do we get to do all these things??? LOL Time draaaaggged for us to grow up, but I'm sure it didn't seem that way to our parents since now most of us are parents, and it only seems like yesterday we had our children and tearfully escorted them to their first day of Kindergarten. Now they're all grown up or growing up and in college or graduating from college. I know my daughter Tori graduates from college in 3 weeks. Me, the mother of a college graduate???? NAH! I haven't finished growing up so how is it she's grown up now???? LOL
Anyway, I digress. I really enjoyed seeing the sites and attending the festival. I got to see and actually camp out next to fellow author and Sabine High School alumnus Edward Hancock II, the author of the Mendez series. There series is a in the Christian Thriller genre and is set in Longview, TX. Look for him on Amazon or on his website: www.edwardhancockii.com I also got a visit from my high school science teacher, Mr. Rick Ford! It was awesome getting to see him and visit with him a little bit. I also met his sweet daughter and beautiful wife. And as always, I met a lot of new people which I LOVE LOVE LOVE! I also got to meet Patty Wiseman whom I had heard a lot about from Mr. Hancock so I was honored to finally meet Patty. Check her out on her website: www.pattywiseman.com. As for sales, I sold 3 of each book and swapped with a fellow Tater publishing author Scott Plummer. His book The Rabbit That Could Fly is also on Tate's website and on Amazon so check it out.
So here are some pics from the event. I will definitely keep this event on my list as I look forward to attending it next year.

I will be attending the 2016 Chautauqua Festival in Longview, TX on Saturday, April 16, from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. I am excited to be doing a book event back "home". My fellow author friend and high school classmate Edward Hancock II will also be attending this event. I hope to meet many new people and hopefully see some old peeps from East Texas. I will post pics from the event at a later date.
